A sero survey conducted in several hospitals in the Kashmir Valley reported that nearly 27% of the healthcare workers have developed antibodies against COVID-19.
A sero prevalence study was carried out by the Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar among healthcare providers of the Kashmir Division in the month of January to detect SARS-CoV-2 specific IgG antibodies. The Department of Community Medicine obtained 2,013 samples from GMC, Srinagar-associated hospitals, district hospitals and police hospitals. Overall, 555 samples exhibited IgG antibodies, translating to an overall sero positivity of 27.3%. According to Muhammad Salim Khan, head of community medicine at GMC, healthcare providers must get COVID-19 vaccination as a vast majority were still prone to the infection… (NDTV – PTI, February 7, 2021)
